With the continuous development of electronic technology, computer technology and network technology, intelligent automatic device in the core of microprocessor in the grid control it has been widely used, at the same time, with the promulgation of the IEC61850 standard International Electrotechnical Commission, promote the use of electronic transformers, power parameter measurement technology improves, as well as network management department for equipment reliability rate and availability requirements continue to increase, gradually formed the concept of intelligent substation. Through continuous exploration and practice, nearly 100 communications to IEC61850 standard, using the "Three-layer-Two-network" structure distinct characteristics of intelligent substation in the country has put into operation.Firstly, the background of the development of intelligent substation are described, explained its advantages compared to conventional substation. As a strong run support smart grid important fulcrum, intelligent substation can achieve full acquisition and real-time sharing of data grid operation, achieve coordination strategy and operation is scheduled to run, support real-time control of the power grid, smart regulation and various advanced applications to ensure that all levels of security and stability operation.In the process of intelligent substation construction, a choice of smart devices is a top priority. The third chapter describes the various types of electronic transformers in this stage, a performance of intelligence components, principle and development trend, the article pointed out comprehensive consideration of cost and the actual situation when making a choice of equipment.This study focuses on the intelligent substation design and concrete implementation. The fourth chapter expounds the intelligent substation construction specification, describes in detail the intelligent substation with various advanced application functions and requirements. The fifth chapter combine the building of Mafang 220kV intelligent substation, specific embodiments intelligent substation construction are described, including the primary portion and the second portion of system design, network architecture, functional configuration, advanced applications and the others, it presented a detailed plan of intelligent design, in order to meet the measurement, protection and control of substations aspects of the function, meet the requirements of real-time monitoring of substation, to ensure the substation can normal operation, for the future intelligent substation designed to provide a certain reference value.
