Having been seeing the rapid increase in the awareness of heritage protection nowadays, we have also brought the research of heritage conservation to the table via a wide range of subjects. As the successor of history, modern buildings have declared significant information of eras, including history, philosophy, art, technology, etc. The original QiLu University (currently known as Shandong University Baotu Campus), which is located in Jinan, Shandong Province, is one representative of church universities during modern period in China history; its modern Architectural Complex reveals the development course among church universities, and each building of it bears relatively high values in aspects of history and art. Hence the goal of this article is to investigate St. Paul Building (currently Building of Construction) in perspective with Architectural Aesthetics.The article firstly probes into the methods of the research of classic architectural aesthetics, and systematically acknowledges the analysis upon classic architectural aesthetics while considering architectural form, space and basic vector to be main parts of Architectural Aesthetics, which provides theoretical basis for the research of St. Paul Building based on Architectural Aesthetics.Then, on the ground of mapping results, the article elaborately explains the status of St. Paul Building in terms of its regional position, foundation background and architectural scale.Last but not least, based on Architectural Aesthetics, the paper dissects St. Paul Building through its interior spatial arrangement, vertical form, internal and external decorations, incising, etc., and thereby demonstrates St. Paul Building as a typical Chinese and Western combiner conveying historical, social and cultural values.Buildings express history, society and culture in special forms, and also reflect the advance of economics, production and technology. On the condition of Architectural Aesthetics, the research of St. Paul Building looks into buildings by elements involving both visual and mental feelings, and philosophical thinking; it’s highly expected to positively lead to further development of architectural creation.
