In recent years, the global nuclear power industry has shown a slight growth trend, there’re more and more nuclear power stations established all over the world, and China will also continue to extend its leadership position on the nuclear power industry, having made a huge investment in the field. The nuclear power equipment has played an important role in the development of the Nuclear Power Industry, however, the reliability of the nuclear power equipment has been puzzling the staffs in the fields.This thesis mainly bases on a kind of industrial robot for automatic metal drum opening-sealing, which is jointly exploited by the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group and the University of Electronic Science and Technology, it is mainly used for disposing of the nuclear waste on the line of the cement solidification, and finishing the automatic opening and sealing of the metal drum, the key place of the function lies in the loosening and tightening of the bolt. The research target of the thesis is to the combine the FMECA and FTA methods, carrying out the reliability failure analysis on the upgraded version of the bolt machine.Firstly, analysis the equipment on the traditional FMECA method, and then find the various failures of equipment as many as possible, and later, fill in the FMEA form and draw the matrix graph to describe the harmfulness of every failure; and then choose several failure modes which we hate to face with, as the top event of the FTA analysis, furtherly, establish the corresponding fault trees and analysis them, eventually, design the corresponding improvements for the corresponding failure modes.Combining with the above analysis and fault modes appearing in experiments, improve the equipment based on some on some failures which can’t be avoided effectively, from the aspects of mechanism, redundancy and safety, and make prototype testing or simulation to verify the measures.Thanks to the failure analysis and effective optimization of the equipment, the equipment will show a stronger reliability, in the meanwhile, it makes sense that the improvements ease the potential risks effectively which may occur in the future use. The information of the failure analysis can not only facilitate the subsequent design and maintenance work, but also be used as reference of future development of the similar product.
