Wire and cable industry is widely used in electricity, communications, manufacture, and other related industries. This paper relies on the project for Huawei Zhongde Limited-Liability Company, designs a quality traceability system based on radio frequency technology to solve the product quality data collection difficulties and other issues in the existing wire and cable production systems. The system is mainly used to record production process data, fault alarm during the production process and trace the quality issues.In this paper, the system is shown in detail by the deployment of data acquisition system, the design of software system and the quality backtracking strategy three aspects. The three different parts, referencing the architecture of Internet of Things(IOT), achieves the management of production quality issues, such as the materials management, staff management, supplier management, and other basic information management, and the real-time monitoring of production processing, and backtracking management etc. Different from other backtracking systems, quality decision-making part was added to the system, backtracking data was used to analyze the reasons of quality problems, achieving the quality backtracking and quality control complementary to each other together to improve the quality of products.For the difficult problems of data collection using existing equipment, relying on the technology of perceptual layer in IOT, we achieved the data transmission through designing a hardware module with communication interface. A data collection network was built on this basis, to achieve real-time data transmission. Raw materials, staff and other factors that are difficult to quantify were associated with radio frequency card using the management system, therefore the data can be collected rapidly through the RFID reader in production field. SMST MNet data processor in the data acquisition network will fuse the preliminary data and uploaded the high reliability data to database.Software system achieves some software applications, such as the company’s basic management, quality backtracking management, the client software of Huawei headquarters etc. Through the software system, we can manage company basic information and query quality problem’s detailed production data. The changes of production process data can be image displayed in real-time in Huawei’s headquarters, the possible fault information will be recorded and alarm signal will sent out.A data processing algorithm which based on data fusion was designed for backtracking strategy, it has three parts: multi-sensor fusion, which fuses multiple sensor data based on confidence distance and gets the initial data with high reliability; process capability index, which extracts the information in initial data through the calculation of process capability and monitors the production process; quality decision-making, the quality of the product is determined by two levels of Bayesian decision, the quality problem location is realized by modifying prior knowledge. Simulation calculation was given using measured data by the system to verify the accuracy of decision-making and problem location effect.
