China is an earthquake prone country, most of the earthquake has occurred at the focal depth of about 20 kilometres in the shallow earthquake. At the same time,the vast majority of China’s city which more than 1 million of population in the seismic area, accounting for about 60% of the land.Lots of primary and secondary schools building of our country, most of which is the construction of brick concrete structure and single span frame structure which is not conducive to the earthquake which would suffered Serious damage after the earthquake.The earthquake in Wenchuan,The collapse of a large number of school buildings, to the whole society was a wake-up call, urgent to reinforcement school. After that, the country launched at school the construction of the school safety project detection strengthening project. Its purpose is to improve the damping performance of the building disaster prevention,primary and secondary schools to focus on seismic fortification standards.First,This paper analyzes the currently our country elementary and middle schools school existing problems, summarizes the brick structure of the test items,identification methods, through the analysis of masonry structure and single span frame structure in the previous earthquake damage forms, respectively on the beam,constructional column, important component seismic and stairwells, parapet, and other non structural components was analyzed.Secondly, it compares the small study of single span frame structure and masonry structure seismic reinforcement design scheme. For the masonry structure of the enlarging section method, wrapped steel strengthening method, reinforced cement surface layer method, additional structure column and circle beam method and change the way of force transmission method, derivation, and quoted the Ministry of sub reinforcement method bearing force calculation formula, of various reinforcement methods, advantages and disadvantages are discussed, in order to provide reference for the selection of reinforcement methods. For the single span frame structure were introduced additional wing wall strengthening method, adding frame column reinforcement method, adding shear wall reinforcement method, additional anti yield support reinforcement method and base isolation method.Last, listed at the porject of Jimo City, a school building reinforcement case.Through the case analysis more intuitive understanding of the increasing sectionmethod of identification, reinforcement design and construction process, provide a reference for other similar buildings.
