Domestic fire hydrant pipe network calculation is one of the important subject in the design of building plumbing systems. Domestic fire hydrant system is commonly used in our country. The optimization of the design of fire hydrant pipe network has an important effect to the social economy.The first part of this article mainly introduces the classification and characteristics of the fire hydrant water supply system. The component of the fire hydrant system is also demonstrated. The overpressure of high-rise building problems is also analyzed, and the preventive measures are proposed.In the second part, the fire hydrant annular pipe network hydraulic calculation is discussed. For fire hydrant annular pipe network calculation, the dendritic calculation approach is adopted for a pretty long time in our country. The calculation results do not conform to the actual flow conditions which makes a great waste of water resources. Annular pipe network calculation of domestic fire hydrant water supply system was studied in this essay. With the using of annular pipe network hydraulic balance equation, a new fire hydrant water supply system annular pipe network calculation method was proposed, which makes the fire hydrant water supply calculation closer to the actual status, and more economic. In addition, the calculation method was programmed in an application. Using HaochenCAD platform, and its own graphic database functionality and data transformation, input the fire hydrant system section data (e.g.,length), and make the annular pipe network hydraulic calculation. In this way, designers will make a greatly improve of working efficiency and get a accurate result fast.Calculation results are also verified through the real engineering example, the software’s calculation results is smaller than the traditional calculation result. This approach reduces the fire pump delivery head and the overpressure situation which also meets the most unfavorable point under the premise of water flow and pressure.
