With the development of modern economy and technology, the number of high-rise buildings grows rapidly. High-rise buildings characterized by light weight, large flexibility, small damping and low natural frequency are mainly controlled by wind loads in design. In china, the design wind load is suggested to be determined by wind tunnel test for super high-rise buildings according to "load code for the design of building structures". Therefore, based on the aeroelastic model wind tunnel test of a super high-rise building, this paper mainly makes research on the wind induced response and the equivalent static wind load. The research is mainly focused on the following aspects:Based on the date of the aeroelastic model wind tunnel test of a super high-rise building, the spectrum of wind-induced response of the test results are analysed to study the random vibration characteristics of the super high-rise buildings firstly, and then the displacement and acceleration response of any floor are calculated with the measured date of some floors to observe the vibration characteristics of wind-induced response. The displacement and acceleration data are provided for the calculation of equivalent static wind load. The equivalent static wind load is calculated in accordance with two kinds of principles:displacement equivalent and internal force equivalent, utilizing the SRSS modes combination procedures. Then the results are compared to verify the feasibility and reliability of the two methods. Based on the above work, some suggests are given for the engineering demand on the equivalent static wind load for high-rise buildings. The displacement equivalent static wind load are calculated under three different test conditions, and then the results are analysed with the test results to study the influence of surrounding environment on the equivalent ststic wind load.
