Spectrometer is a kind of widely used optical instrument. It is usually applied to measure and analyze the structure and components of matter. Traditional spectrometer based on PC’s Windows system, can analyze spectral fast and display real-time spectrum diagram intuitively. However, it’s inconvenient to use it outdoors. Therefore, to realize miniaturization, portability and intelligence of spectrograph, and to overcome the inconvenience while using it based on the traditional PC’s Windows system, this paper discusses a viable way to realize these purposes. That is, by using the microprocessor and Android devices, it will be more convenient and intelligent for the portable spectrometer to acquisition and process data outdoors.This paper proposes a design of portable spectrometer based on Android devices,and mainly introduces the overall design of the spectrometer, including optical-mechanical system, spectral data acquisition system, microprocessor and Android devices data processing system. To simplify the structure of optical system, a plane holograph concave grating is used in the system. Mechanical structure is designed by the SolidWorks software and the 3D printing technology is used to shape the mechanical structure. Using linear CCD(TCD1304DG) as a photoelectric detector and STC15 MCU as the core, a high resolution spectrum data acquisition system based on Android is designed with the help of Android USB communication. APP is developed for spectral data real-time processing by Eclipse integrated development environment. In order to meet the portable spectrometer requirements of working in a different environment, using electronic shutter technology makes CCD’s integral time real-time adjustion online. Using Android platform as data processing carrier instead of the traditional PC reflects the strong portability.
