With the development of science and technology, the Internet of things technology makes smart home possible. At present, although there are a wide variety of intelligent home equipment, smart appliances is still relatively expensive, which makes many buyers prohibitive. Therefore, they still use none smart appliances ordinarily. In reality, it is need for such a device that, at a smaller cost, the device can make non intelligent appliances into a more intelligent device, so the smart socket came into being. The function of traditional power supply socket is single and simple, and the traditional power supply socket just distributes multi-channel power. The smart socket not only has the function of power distribution, but also has the characteristics of intelligent. It has a great market demand that the intelligent socket has lots of functions and cost-effective.In view of this situation, the paper proposes a new intelligent socket design based on Internet of things technology. The intelligent socket design scheme comprehensive application of the embedded system technology, networking technology, Wi-Fi wireless communication technology, the wide area network communication technology, server communication technology, etc. The intelligent socket can be used in the remote control system of smart home, the user can use smart device in any place, as long as in the case of accessing the Internet via the 2G, GPRS,3G,4G or Wi-Fi network, users can control the indoor intelligent socket, so as to realize the remote intelligent control of all kinds of household appliances connected to the smart socket. Smart devices that installed client software can control the switch, timer setting. The USB charging interface is provided by the intelligent socket, and the battery can be prevented from being damaged. The intelligent socket can measure and record the power consumption of electric energy.The design of a new intelligent socket based on Internet of things technology, mainly including the hardware design and software design. In addition, the intelligent socket software design includes two parts:the embedded system software design and Android software development. Hardware design includes the following parts:power management module, power consumption measurement module, USB charging interface, embedded controller control module and Wi-Fi wireless communication module. Embedded software program design mainly includes embedded software programming architecture, custom communication protocol design, data format design, and data communication program design. The software design of Android intelligent equipment is mainly divided into login management, device management, device control, network configuration management, data record management, and several other modules.In this paper, I innovatively put forward a new mind that indirectly control the socket via wide area network and server, Wi-Fi module of the smart socket runs LWIP protocol for network communication, intelligent socket through a wireless router Wi-Fi access to the Internet, and then communication with server, through internet TCP/IP protocol. Mobile phones and other intelligent devices access network via the 2G, GPRS,3G,4G or Wi-Fi, and communicate with server. Server is responsible for data reception, data storage, data forwarding and other functions. Thus, mobile phones and other intelligent equipment in any place, as long as accessing the network, can remote control the intelligent socket.Finally, under the condition of school laboratory environment, the rigorous testing and verification of the new intelligent socket design was carried out and the experimental data was analyzed in detail, achieved a very satisfactory results. The new intelligent socket design scheme can fully meet the design requirements of the system.
