Research On The Cultural Integrity Based Traditional Village Protection Strategies

This thesis has analyzed the two modes protected by the current traditional villages, namely, ecological museums and national culture ecology village, and holds that the existing protection policies attaches inadequate importance to the local villagers in the current protection strategy. The excessive commercial development at this stage is a double-edged sword to the protection of traditional villages. The economic development is achieved at the cost of damage to culture.In response to the inadequacy of the existing strategies for the protection of traditional villages, this thesis proposes the content of cultural integrity protection and interprets the cultural integrity. It believes that the essence of culture is the results of production and life practice in nature. Traditional villages carry man and culture and the integrity protection is to make traditional culture to be inherited as a whole. To make cultural integrity protection of traditional village culture, it is necessary to protect the surrounding ecological environment, village physical space and intangible cultural heritage, the core of the protection should be villages living here for generations. Only the protection of traditional methods of production and living conditions can guards the humanistic soil for the roots of the overall heritage of traditional culture.With Yongre Village, a Wa village, as the case study, this thesis researched mentality cultural layer, behavior cultural layer, institution cultural layer and physical state cultural layer and described the relationship between each other. It believes that a village culture is an organic whole, interacting with each other while being inseparable. According to the existing problems affecting the cultural heritage in Yongre Village, this thesis has worked out the relevant measures of protection based on the concept of cultural integrity protection.
