Smart Substation based on IEC61850 standard is an important part of smart grid construction, including merging unit, intelligent terminal, intelligent protection device and high speed Ethernet Technology, the application of new technology also brings a "Matrix Revolution" to the traditional substation maintenance operation. Only understand and grasp the smart substation related theory and engineering practice, the guidance of smart substation maintenance work can be better.This issue sets the engineering application of 110kV Youche smart substation in Yuhang power as the main line, it mainly studies the smart substation communication standards and technical specifications, including First or Secondary intelligent equipment and construction of the basic program. Combined with the engineering practice, the paper analyzes the engineering application of 110kV Youche smart substation, it also studies the process layer and station control layer network configuration, including the process layer, interlayer and station control layer equipment typical configuration, then summarize secondary equipment debugging results. Lastly, according to new opportunities and challenges for the implementation of Smart Substation security measures, this paper studies on the characteristics and classification of the soft-pressure plate of the protective measure and control device of smart substation, proving the GOOSE and SV maintenance mechanism of Smart Substation in engineering commissioning, introducing the typical safety measures of smart substation, and taking typical relay protection as an example, the typical safety measures are formulated. Finally, this paper takes the actual operation of the smart substation as an example, the implementation scheme of special safety measures is formulated, and the reliability and safety of the scheme are verified through debugging.Through the above research, we can master the operation and maintenance of Smart Substation structure and characteristics, defined the maintenance process of safety measures, to ensure the safety of the Smart Substation production in Yuhang power.
