In recent years, with the continuous development of science and technology, competition among enterprises is not only reflected in the product competition, but also reflected in the timeliness of product delivery, supply chain collaboration and other aspects. Warehousing as an important part of the supply of products has gradually attracted people’s attention. The shortage of urban land has led people to begin to study how to make effective use of space for efficient storage. The compact storage system is raised in response to this condition. As can be seen from the development of foreign enterprises, the automation of storage is the inevitable trend of its development, and the characteristics of the compact storage system can meet the needs of pharmaceutical and food enterprises.Firstly, it introduces the emergence and development of compact storage system, which provide the basic data for the design of Satellite-based system. Then this paper analyzes the principle and characteristics of Satellite-based compact storage system. For the detailed elaboration, it explains the hardware system and control system. On this basis, combined with the actual case, K pharmaceutical enterprises, of Satellite-based compact storage system process, the detailed design has been carried on, feasible scheme is proposed, and the system capacity is calculated and analyzed. In the view of the above K pharmaceutical enterprise process plan, we selected the system hardware, and described the technology parameters of the S/R machine, the shuttle, the deep shelf and other hardware equipment in detail. In addition, a detailed description of the whole process is carried out, using the unified modeling language to complete the development and design of the control software.In this paper, the design of Satellite-based compact storage system using automatic control system, through the stacker and shuttle car to achieve dynamic, accurate and flexible storage, and ensure that arranging the outflow work timely and effectively with the batch and quantity required according to the plans. From the storage to the outflow, the design can achieve full automatic quasi unmanned management, which will greatly improve automation level of warehouse. Field application’s results prove that storage capacity increased dramatically, while reducing the labor intensity, the operation of drug from the production line to the finished product warehouse storage achieve automation process totally, it improves the operation efficiency of the logistics system, and the need of storage area and the operators is reduced, which greatly reduces the cost of enterprise logistics operation.
