Analysis From The Living Environment Changes On The Public Space Design Of Settlement Community

Urbanization is an indispensable phenomenon of urban and rural development at the present time. It is also an important factor for the economy growth and modernization.However, history and experiences have shown that not all the urbanization goes with economic development and social progress. The advantages and disadvantages of urbanization mostly depend on the choice of the proper ways to become urbanized.Throughout China’s urbanization, more and more complicated social problems and contradiction appear along with the continually forwarded urbanization.This paper focuses on the people who experienced demolition resettlement of rural communities to urban communities. The changes of their living environment were investigated to obtain information. Thus some suggestions of the design on resettlement community public space were put forward.First of all, the relationship of urbanization and living environment was analyzed,fundamental theory frame was constructed, and the causes of problems were discussed.Secondly, Suzhou lotus countryside community was investigated to analyze contradictions and problems of their living environment. By comparing with Qiangang village in Chefang town, the differences of living environment between urban and rural people during the same time horizons were studied and the direction of improvement was explored. Finally,according to the field research and the theoretical analysis, three main elements of resettlement community public space design were concluded. Based on the three main elements, design methods which can be taken into consideration were provided.The overall structure of the article is accordance with logical order including cause analysis, field investigations and results summary. The result of field investigations can factually reflects the differences between urban and rural areas on the way of urbanization process in China. The goal is to provide some suggestion and advice to community public space design through the example of re-settlement community.
