Now the problem of environment pollution in China is becoming more serious and rounds of fog haze envelope the whole country. However, automobile exhaust emissions is one of the roots, which cause the terrible air condition in China. Apart from the problem of environment pollution, the problem of energy shortage cannot be ignored as well because the oil resources in the world are gradually exhausted. Therefore, the tradition fuel vehicles in recent years are gradually neglected, and electric vehicles are more popular with the characteristics of energy saving and environmental protection. At present, electric vehicle has become an important force in the automotive industry and the government invested a lot of money to the development and promotion of electric vehicles in the country. At the same time, public aesthetic level improved a lot so that the current market has been difficult to meet their needs and the subject to improve the electric vehicle body design has been an urgent need to overcome.Electric vehicles stand for energy saving and environmental protection, so its body design is not only need to meet the needs of the public aesthetic, but also to meet the requirements of air dynamics. The body design, which is lightweight, low wind resistance, can reflect the essential characteristics of the energy conservation and environmental protection. In addition, the current electric car styling is too similar to tradition one, some even are the electric version of original fuel with nothing change in appearance. Obviously, the design of electric vehicles lack obvious characteristics. Therefore, it is very important to study the characteristics of electric vehicle, which is of great significance to find the characteristics of electric vehicle.In this paper, the electric vehicle styling design is taken as the research object to get the final styling design of electric concept vehicle body, which meet the public aesthetic and low wind resistance requirements by products styling method. Firstly, the difference between the electric vehicle and the traditional fuel vehicle are explored, and the influence factors of the electric vehicle body styling design are summarized. Secondly, the electric vehicles in the market and the electric concept car are analyzed by the analyze methods of summarizing, classifying and comparing to obtain the characteristics of electric vehicle body styling and the trend of future electric vehicle body styling design. Then, there is a design practice according to the traditional industrial design process. The design process containing market analysis, user research, sketch design, design schemes determination,3D digital modeling and rendering design has been shown to reach some design schemes. Finaly, the 3D model of the aerodynamic performance is analyzed by using FLUENT software to evaluate the three design schemes from the angle of aerodynamics. Eventually, the best design scheme was obtain which is most consistent with the requirements of lightweight and low wind resistance.
