Along with social progress, substations build more perfect. In the case of increasing of power size, the equipment will continue to increase in number. The traditional maintenance mode of the condition of protective relaying which based on preventive for the principle, now has been unable to meet the electricity needs of the production, there is the need to reform the way of overhaul state protection. Traditional type of protection is based on periodic inspection mode operation, so it do not pay attention to the actual status of the device, and will make companies invest a lot of money. In addition, the overhaul every protection device, the device must be stopped, which give people’s life and businesses produce inconvenience and loss.Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FSE) by constructing grade fuzzy subset, to reflect the amount of assessment to quantify the state of things, and then use the fuzzy transformation principle amount to each state comprehensive evaluation. Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method in the field of protection status assessment is being more and more attention, but the method is often the weighting factor can not objectively and effectively reflect the state quantity of change, especially for only a serious deviation from the normal state quantity Happening. In addition to the above method, artificial neural networks, Bayesian networks, and gray correlation method also state assessment has been applied.For lack of FSE, this paper presents a variable weights fuzzy comprehensive assessment (VWFSE). This method will become the right combination of theory and FSE, the weighting factor can accurately follow the state amount of change. Firstly, the FSE and fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) were introduced and analyzed the deficiency of FAHP. Then, for lack VWFSE This paper describes and gives concrete calculation procedure. Finally, the use of an area of a relay device examples demonstrate the effectiveness of this method. Compared with the FSE, state assessment results VWFSE more accurate. Combined with Struts2, VWFSE will practice in the area grid.
