With the rapid development of power grid, the popularity of unattended substation and the complication of power system operating mode, the importance of dispatching automation system which is an important component of the power grid and the foundation to ensure it’s safely,high-quality and economically running is raising.In order to make sure that the dispatching automation system can operate stably,the key is to provide a stable power supply.UPS is invented to support these important load.This paper started from the basic concept of the UPS(uninterrupted power supply),then studied the common types of it,including on-line ups,off-line ups and line interactive ups,pointed out their principles,advantages and disadvantages.Analyzed both the parallel redundant way and the distributing redundant way.As in this case of the reconstruction of dispatching automation room UPS,this paper made a solution that is based on the feature of the load,the limits of present situation,the economic and the reliability.It also elaborated the implementation process and things to look out in daily maintenance.This reconstruction project took account of economic,viability and reliability,providing some reference value of similar situation.This paper makes the point that it is a good choice to choose the double bus redundant way and guarantee stability of single power supply module device by using LBS(Load Bus Synchronization) or rack-mount Automatic Transfer Switch. With in the condition of limited racks,it’s more feasible to choose rack-mount UPS.It is important that during the construction or reconstruction,we should not be restricted to the common solution,but to study and apply flexibly.In that case,the final solution will be more practical and effective.
