The Research Of Chinese Traditional Weaving Technique Application In Product Design

Chinese traditional weaving techniques are treaseures of human cultural wealth, it is one of the earliest stages of human civilization practical skills, and is an important part of people’s lives that closely related to peoples’ s livelihood. From traditional agricultural production to industrial production and with the change of a different background. Weaving skills constantly enriched and improved, knitting products also are evolving constantly. Some knitting products are spreaded so far, but there is also woven products disappeared in the long history. However, under the traditional needs of life, people designed the product contains profound wisdom of life and ancient clever creative concepts. The design concept is worthy reference for modern product design.But with the industrial morphological changes and the aesthetic sence improvement of people, the weave that a traditional craftsmanship is gradually separated with modern product design concept. The knitting product has gradually faded out of people’s vision. How innovation design in cultural heritage at the same time is a major problem now. This is also the subject of Chinese traditional knitting skills in the design of household product in the origin of the practice.In this paper, through the study of the characteristics of traditional weaving skills. With the use of weaving techniques in product design as the breakthrough point analysis, combining skill, functional and modern design idea as the goal, to explore new forms. Focus on investigation, analysis and study on bamboo household product design.Using literature analysis and case analysis, respectively, from weaving skills, function, shape, color, four aspects of traditional and modern bamboo furniture products are analyzed and compared, and the design rule induction and summary, looking for bamboo weaving in contemporary household products in the design of the new location.On this basis, from the function, scale, shape and structure, color, pattern four aspects compared the traditional bamboo weaving and application characteristics of the modern bamboo weaving in household products. Using questionnaire survey for contemporary bamboo weaving user demand characteristics.Paper combined with the modern design method and the traditional principle of creation, thinking of modern bamboo weaving design ideas and methods.Weaving product image, weaving symbols and modern functional reorganization, weaving technology combined with other process, using basic modeling elements to build a new product modeling method.Paper finally shows bamboo weaving mainly modern household design practice, puts forward the design of three products. And to build the detailed design of lamps and lanterns, made a mock-up.
