Mini pure electric vehicle has won a large numbers of markets and showed a strong growth trend before its technical standards are promulgated by government. Promotion of mini pure electric vehicle is in line with the needs of China’s national conditions, and at the present stage, it is necessary to research on the performance of mini pure electric vehicle.Based on development demands of mini electric vehicle of certain company, this article has done some research to EV01 mini electric vehicle, which included driving system matching,performance simulation research, vehicle structure design and layout, and high voltage electrical control system design.Firstly, driving system and vehicle structure of EV01 was designed. According to the vehicle parameters and performance goals of EV01, the driving system core components parameters were initially matched by the theory of vehicle dynamics equations, such as driving motor, power battery, and transmission ratio. Based on the experimental data of motor and battery, the rationality of the preliminary match was checked by using MATLAB programming,which included that the dynamic performance and constant speed driving range of EV01 can reach the design requirements or not. Based on the characteristics of EV01, the frame structure,suspension system, steering system and braking system are designed and its layout was carried out reasonably.Secondly, Based on ADVISOR driving system of EV01 was modeled, and its performance was simulated analysis. In order to get more accurate simulation results, secondary development of ADVISOR was carried out, and mini car drive control simulation model and GUI interface was got. And then, by establishing driving system simulation model and simulation parameters m files, the dynamic and economic performance of EV01 was simulated analysis. The results of simulation showed that the dynamic and economic performance of EV01 has basically met the design requirements, besides, further analysis of the motor and battery simulation results output characteristics showed that simulation model is created correctly, the simulation results are reliable.Thirdly, influence factor analysis and performance optimization was done. By comparing the economic performance of EV01 under the three road conditions of CYC_UDDS,CYC_CHINA and CYC_ECE_EUDC, it is found that the economic performance of EV01 underCYC_CHINA condition is the best, which indicates that it is more suitable for low speed operating conditions. The change of vehicle quality has great influence on the dynamic and economic performance of EV01, and the slope climbing and acceleration performance are more sensitive to the quality change. Different dynamic and economic performance is obtained by taking different speed ratio, which changes between 6.25 and 8.5. The best ratio is obtained by using the optimization method of vehicle comprehensive performance maximum.Lastly, high voltage electric control system of EV01 was designed and vehicle experiment was carried out. The high voltage electric control system included three parts of the whole vehicle 72 V high voltage power supply main circuit, driving control circuit and data communication circuit. Through the wiring connection test of the electric control system and the performance road test, the test results show that the design of the electric control system is feasible, dynamic and economic performance of EV01 also meet the design goals.All the research contents in this article may provided reference to research on the overall design and performance of mini electric vehicle, which contains matching of electric drive system, modeling simulation and performance optimization, design of high voltage electric control system, and design of vehicle structure and layout.
