Research On The Space Design Of Recreational Stilt Floor Of Public Buildings In The Subtropical Area

There are strong sunshine and frequent rains of sub-tropical climate. Stilt floor is a common design method used with buildings in the sub-tropical area. With open space and form, this method can help to prevent sunshine and improve ventilation. It is a adaptive design method in the subtropical area. With the rapid development of cities in the sub-tropical area, the citizen’s demand of public space is growing higher and higher in the city. But resent number of public spaces in the city is limited and it can’t meet the demand of the citizens. Stilt floor in the building can be ankind of urban public architecture space to create more public space for the city as a adaptable and open architecture space, which can be the a useful supplement to the public space of the city.Based on the views above, the research object of this paper is the recreational stilt floor of the public buildings of the Pearl River Delta region in China in the subtropical area. This paper combining the comparable cases of the sub-tropical climate countries and regions makes researches on the form, function and the relationship of the recreational stilt floor with urban space in the city through literature research, field research, questionnaire, interview and other research methods. And on this basis, this paper makes researches on the space vitality of public building stilt floor, and discuss the influence factors of the space vitality from the perspective of architectural design. Combined with field research of three typical cases, this paper summarizes the design strategy and the design method of subtropical public space built on stilts, and hopes to provide new ideas and perspectives for future recreational public space built on stilts design and urban space design.Paper is divided into five parts: the first part is the first chapter, the theoretical study and research scope limited. This part mainly discusses the research background, defines the research object and scope, explains the research purpose and significance, research methods and research framework, and summarizes the relevant research about the overhead space at home and abroad. The second part is the second chapter, this part points out that stilt floor can overcome the negative impact with climate, and be in accordance with the sub-tropical people’s habits, from sub-tropical climate characteristics and stilt floor suitability of. The third part is the third chapter and the fourth chapter, this part analyzes the overhead space in urban morphology, function and with the urban public space relationship, and on this basis, it combined with excellent cases of overhead space of public building activity space to carry on the discussion, and analyzes the spatial activity of the influencing factors. The fourth part is the fifth chapter, this part analyzes typical cases with high vitality in different aspects and read the advantages and disadvantages in practical use of all kinds of public buildings, which is enlightening for the future. The fifth part is the sixth chapter, based on the above analysis basis for discussion, this part summarizes space design strategy and design methods for the building design and urban design of the stilt floor of the public buildings. And this paper intends to provide some references tips for the future design of recreational stilt floor of public buildings and cities.
