Twin Towers connected high-rise structure with building unique shape, the use of space resources, improved the utilization rate of ground resources and meet the multi functional requirements and other characteristics, is more and more favored by investors,but the current research on this kind of structure is not comprehensive and thorough.Therefore, this paper establishes high towers conjoined structure with same height, and high towers structure with same height, high towers conjoined structure with different height, high towers structure with different height. The double tower connected structures dynamic characteristics and seismic response are studied deeply. For the problem of double tower connected structure dynamic elastic plastic analysis stage plastic hinges appear unreasonable, the method is proposed for the structure of the method of performance based seismic evaluation and design to provide more basis, and to lay the foundation for further research. The research contents are as follows:(1) The modal analysis of the above four models is carried out, and the influence of the existence of the connected body、connected stiffness、change of position for the dynamic characteristics of twin towers connected structure of same height and different height.(2) The seismic response spectrum analysis of the four models is carried out, and the vibration mode combination method is different. The effect of the seismic response of the connecting structure of the high and unequal height and unequal height of the twin towers connected structure is analyzed and the design suggestions are given.(3) Equal height and unequal high towers conjoined structure’s dynamic historyanalysis is done, comparative study is carried out with the angular displacement, the maximum displacements of the vertex, vertex acceleration to find out the two kinds of structure in elastic- plastic analysis of earthquake response of the similarities and differences, and equivalence of high towers conjoined structure plastic hinge analysis of the emergence. Although structure satisfy the specification layer displacement angle between the provisions, but the formation of the column hinge mechanism is not conducive to the safety of the structure.(4) Reference codes and relevant literature determined the performance level of the double tower connected structure, the performance level of angular displacement limit value is proposed, so as to establish the performance objectives of the double tower connected structure, and gives the performance assessment method of the double tower connected structure based on the seismic performance. According to this method, the seismic performance of the structure is evaluated, which verifies the feasibility of the performance based seismic evaluation method of the Twin Towers connected structure.
