The hot summer and cold winter area is hot in summer, cold and wet in winter and has harsh indoor and outdoor environments, but it does not belong to the central heating area. It has vast area, internal terrain, varied weather conditions. With the improvement of people’s living standards, the residential building heating problem in hot summer and cold winter area is getting people’s attention, and putting forward new requirements for heating in recent years. So the heating mode and building envelope’s designing are the issues that matter most. Through the study of the interior climatic conditions, load characteristics of residential buildings and the suitability of heating mode, the question above will be answered.Firstly, taking on behalf of the climate conditions and the outdoor climate indicator data, then using the cluster analysis, establishing the hot summer and cold winter area climate zoning board, the author analyze the differences between interior climatic conditions. It was found that the interior climatic conditions in hot summer and cold winter area vary significantly. The south and north transition zone are similar to the cold area. The hot summer and cold winter area is divided into the northern and southern transition zone, the central core area.Secondly, the author takes the residential buildings for the study, uses De ST-h building energy simulation software to solve. Followed by analyzing of the urban climate conditions, building envelope parameters, building envelope insulation properties and the effects of different representatives indoor environmental standards to thermal load. It was found that the residential building load difference is obvious. Northern transition zone building load distribution is relatively concentrated, more than 70% of the heating time in heating load actually accounts for about 60% of the design heat load. South transition zone construction load distribution is more dispersed, more than 60% of the heating time, only 10% of the actual heat load design load. Central core area of the building load living in the northern part of the transition zone between the southern transition zone, time and frequency range of each load factor was 10%-15%.Finally, based on the load characteristics of residential building and climate division, the author analyzes the suitability of heating mode. Making the target architecture and using De ST-h dynamic load calculation software to calculate the load change in heating season. Then calculate separately from energy, economic and environmental aspects and compare the difference of major heating mode, and make comprehensive assessment of three indicators and comprehensive goodness. Using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, the author obtains the appropriate zoning of heating mode in hot summer and cold winter area.
