Rubber asphalt is produced by crumb rubberand base asphalt through a certain process, because it is not only effective solution to the problem of environmental pollution caused by waste tires stacked, but also has excellent road performance, and thus get a lot conduct research and extension at home and abroad. In this paper,based on Gansu Province major scientific and technological support applied research projects at high altitudes in western Gannan rubber asphalt as the representative, to make some technical support in this region to promote rubber asphalt.The main contents of this paper include: the technical performance indicators and critical control of crumb rubber; high altitudes rubber asphalt production formula; the mechanism of crumb rubber and base asphalt; the viscoelastic properties of asphalt rubber; the viscosity loss characteristics ofrubber asphalt; aging properties of rubber asphalt; a typical mixture ratio design; gradation optimization.At first the test introduce some quality control questionsabout crumbrubbe, by comparing the currently used method of freezing, ambient grinding method and other methods, proposed for high altitude road crumb rubber production methods and technical indicators; followed by positive cross experimental design approach preferably rubber asphalt production of production formula, and to consider the special circumstances of Gannan as the representative of high altitudes, the recipe was optimized, and then use DSR and infrared spectra, etc. were optimized to explore the rubber asphalt reaction mechanism, proposed IE and PE quantitative description means, followed based on the BBR test to study therubber asphalt viscoelastic properties, established a rubberized asphalt viscoelastic constitutive model,then according to the high elevationconstruction needsstudied its viscosity loss performance, obtained viscosity formulas with temperature and time changes, followed by PAV aging and UV aging studies have shown that rubber asphalt has good aging resistance; Finally, this paper reaserchs the typical rubber asphalt mixture Mix Proportion at high altitudes,and the grading is optimized,the results shows that the optimized level considered high altitude environment has a good post performance.The selected parameter 40 mesh, 20% content(Mixed), 190 ℃ reaction temperature, 60 min reaction time combination of factors can meet the technical requirements of the western high altitude rubber asphalt;In the production process, crumb rubber both has physical filling and chemical reaction roles; the optimum storage time of rubber asphalt is 4h, storage temperature is 155 ℃, suitable storage time is 7h; asphalt rubber has excellent anti-aging properties; the designed AR-AC-13 asphalt rubber grading has a good guide on construction for west high altitude.
