Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge(HZMB)is a world-class traffic project with the largest scale, the most complicated technology and the toughest standards. The bridge is equipped with a full automatic and full-covered maintenance system and equipments. The bridge inspection vehicle which walks along the track system under the bridge is one of them. Because of the requirement of the carriage and hoisting methods used by the steel box girder, part of the tracks need to be installed offshore after the accomplishment of the hoisting work. Due to the limitations of their own characteristics, traditional operation modes can not be used for the offshore installation work of the tracks. So we need to design a special platform specifically used for installing the tracks—the track installation vehicle. In this paper, we take the structures of non-navigable span in shallow water area of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge as reference. According to the operation requirements and working conditions, firstly we make a overall design for the vehicle; secondly, according to the working condition of the vehicle, the calculation and selection are completed for the key components including the rotary device, the configuration weight agencies and the power equipment, then, building the 3D model with SolidWorks. ANSYS Workbench is used to do the structure static analysis of the main trusses including the lower truss and the support truss, checking their structural strength and stiffness, then doing the modal analysis, to find out the vibration characteristics of the structure, and providing a reliable theoretical basis for the prevention resonance and resistance to fatigue.
