Research On The Urben Self-service Terminals Of Public Facilities Design Based On Product Semantics

Today’s society is a synthesis of the information.With the development of the technology,the things which need to be solved by human becoming are more and more intelligent.The appearance of variety of service terminals meet the needs of handing various business for human beings to the greatest extent.Based on the theory of product semantics,this paper will try to explore the modeling design of the city self-service terminals from the perspective of semantic expression,and to improve the self-expression of the machine for the exploration of new ideas and methods for the self-service terminals design.The main exploration content is about three parts.From the first part,it will clear the concept of product semantics theoretical basis and its development process,and it will explore the application of product semantics and product semantics based on the theory to analyze the external significance and internal significance of the product.And under the research and exploration,it will analyze the semiotic symbols,image symbols,sign symbols of the semasiology.On the other side,because of the strong operational of the self-service terminal products,the positioning of product semantics should meet the people’s cognitive.Therefore, this thesis should sort out the people’s cognitive process.From the second part,this issue explains the features of urban self-service terminal facilities and analyze these semantic part from forms,functions, interfaces, and symbols.Through the survey and analysis,this issue will summarize the flaws of existing urban terminals,then it can conclude external factors and internal factors which can influence the design of self-service terminal public facilities. In addition, it will summarize the design principles from the four parts :Functional-semantic, emotional meaning, context and human needs.Finally,it will investigate the realization of urban self-service terminal facilities from three parts:Evolution of the users ’ mental model,Specific code,Usage scenarios.In the third part,according to the investigation the former chapters to design to verify the theoretical results.
