Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks is a mobile ad-boc network to support communication for vehicle. The ad-hoc network can help drivers to obtain the real-time information of other vehicle in beyond visual range. However, along with expansion of VANET application, comes more security problem of information. So the expansion of VANET applicaion becomes a research focus in this field. Using traditional information security technologies for different transmit information, this paper propose the specific information security strategy, then simulation for information abstract and symmetric encryption algorithm. Finally a security information strategy will be obtained. The main results and contributions of this dissertation are as follows.(1) The security of information propagation strategy in VANET are devised.The security requirements of VANET in each information is different. According to the specific demand for secure tranmission, the security strategy of information propagation named EMSTS and Non-EMSTS are proposed by message abstract, symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption, digital signature and double transmission of digital signature technology. Then the strategy of security will be analyzed.(2) The application of HMAC-SHA1 in information abstract of vehicle ad-hoc network.With the different information abstract algorithm, the VANET security transmission performance is different. Using The ONE simulation device built simulation environment, we program achieved regularly information abstract algorithm MD-5, SHA1, HMAC-SHA1, and apply the algorithm to the simulation environment. Comparing the VANET information post rates, average latency and network load in different information abstract, the conclusion will be obtained that HMAC-SHA1 is more suitable for VANET information abstract.(3) The application of AES in information symmetric encryption of vehicle ad-hoc network.Programming common symmetric encryption algorithm DES, 3DES and AES, a VANET simulation environment will be setup. Applying algorithm to information encryption process in simulation environment, we compare the VANET information post rates, average latency and network load in different symmetric encryption algorithm, then summary that AES is more suitable for VANET symmetric cryptographic operations.At last, the dissertation is summed up, and the direction for further research is pointed out.
