Actuator load simulator is a type of equipment, which is mainly loading to actuator system. The load simulator can reproduce actually aerodynamic load of the flight device rudder. The reproduce ability of load torque can decide the loading performance of load simulator. High performance load simulator has received more and more attention with the rapid development of aviation. So the study of load simulator has important practical significance for the defense industry.The traditional simulator is a typical passive force servo control system. Extra torque of the simulator seriously affects the simulator load performance. Extra torque rejection has become the focus for home and abroad study over the past few decades. But the study on method of eliminating extra torque in the aspect of structure and control is unsatisfactory. The new load simulator achieves loading of actuator with the theory of friction torque load in this paper, which changes form the passive load system to the active load system. The simulator can completely eliminate extra torque in theory. Based on the existing research results, some theoretical study and achievements on the load simulator have been listed as following. Based on the existing preliminary research results, some research works and achievements of this paper have been listed as following.First of all, in order to make preparation for the control strategy of the new simulator, it is necessary to theoretically study on frictional torque. Through analysis of traditional friction torque the calculating model, Based on the principle of friction and abrasion, a new calculating model of friction torque is established for diminishing error, and the usability of the calculating model is confirmed through three example applications with simulation software, including the ring friction disk, discal friction disk and flabellate friction disk. While study on the influence of structural parameter on friction torque fluctuation.Secondly, the paper research on the temperature field on disk of simulator, which can provide information for design of friction disk. Friction heat is common phenomenon. The heat conduction equation of three-dimensional transient temperature field is established based on principle of heat transfer. Based on the FEA, the numerical method of thermal-mechanical coupling is presented in loading process. The impact of different loading parameter on temperature field is discussed. While size factor of disk has been established for predicting temperature profile of disk, and reliability of size factor has been initially proved.Finally, the performance of simulator has been discussed by simulation model and experiment. Feasibility of simplified model has been verified by result comparison with nonlinear system model. IMC controller has been designed for the characteristic that uncorrected system has low bandwidth and small rate of interference suppression. The superiority of IMC in improving system performance has been verified by comparing with PID. Two-port IMC is further designed to increase rate of interference suppression. Some performance of the controller has been verified by simulation, including tracking accuracy, rate of interference suppression, adaptability of changing parameters. The experimental study has been carried out on the load prototype. The static and dynamic superiority of IMC controller loading performance has been validated by experiment than the traditional PID controller.
