Industrial buildings as direct services to the industrial production of building types, occupy an important position in urban planning and architectural design. In China, industrial building land is generally 25-30% of the total land; in the industrial city, because it has a number of large and medium-sized enterprises, the proportion of land for industrial buildings and even up to 50% or more. With the development of social progress as well as the industrial system continues to mature, it can be said that the modern industrial building has been more than a large space building is also a large number of buildings. Therefore, the mature industrial building design optimization is becoming increasingly important in society as a whole ecological environment. In seeking people, industrial construction, environmental elements among the road of sustainable development, just a very attractive and has the potential of design entry point. Ecological sustainable design, rational use of natural light, the significance lies not only to create high-quality light environment, a higher level reflects the possibility of environmental practices, and also contains a wealth of possibility of aesthetic and humanistic practice.Modern factories are usually very huge because of the industrial production, they often need skylights for side windows alone cannot meet the needs of the indoor lighting. Skylight is the main ways which buildings get natural light by, a proper skylight design can not only provide a comfortable indoor light environment, reduce the lighting energy consumption, but also reshape the inner space and create a expressive architectural style. Therefore, the author’s study focused on the skylight optimize design of single-story industrial building, so as to give some advises on skylight design of this type of factories in Chongqing area.The paper is divided into five chapters, in the order of present questions, analyze problems and solutions.Chapter 1: Introduction. In this part, discusses the background, the purpose, the significance of the research, and generally introduces the methods and research status at home and abroad.Chapter 2: First of all, summary and analysis of some relevant background. Under the trend of industrial building ecological transformation, to optimize the light environment as the starting point of the existing industrial building, analysis the application of skylight in the industrial buildings and the energy saving potential of skylight.Chapter 3: Investigation on some topical factories in Chongqing. According to the investigation on several large industrial park and interviews on workers, grasping the basic information about skylight, the situations of inside physical environment, understanding the working feeling and demanding on workplace, summarizing the problems need to be solved at once the reasons which result in these problems, so as to providing a realistic basis on the post-optimal design.Chapter 4: Analyzing the different factors affecting the skylight lighting. Then combined with the research problems and optimization part, summed up Summed up the single plant skylight optimization strategy which suitable for Chongqing climate characteristics. Take the saw-toothed skylight as an example to make a further exploration of the optimization.Chapter 5: Conclusion and prospect. Summarized the finding on skylight optimization design strategy for single story factory buildings based on the optimization of light environment. Provides some contents that inadequate and to be studied.
