As a people’s livelihood project, old residential area of natural gas pipeline construction engineering, which influenced by the Zhuhai government and the people of the whole society. But engineering project management level is low at home, with the international management have a great distance. The schedule control is an important measure of reasonable arrangement of resources supply, saving the project cost, is the major engineering enterprises attach great importance to the management level. So solving the problems, a comprehensive system of schedule plan and schedule control of construction stage, for the study has very important practical significance. For this problem, the author as the research object in S project in this paper,it detailed introduction that the basic situation and schedule requirements of S project, and find out the reason of the project schedule is out of control firstly. Second the S project used PERT to establish the progress network planning model, to concluded that the critical path. And then utilize CCPM to determine the critical chain of S project, application of elastic coefficient method to calculate the buffer. Finally use of buffer management to supervise and control the construction schedule of S,in view of the engineering features and difficulties, which are of schedule management mode proposed improvements. The progress of the S project has been ensured, and to achieve a more rational use of resources. As the old residential area of natural gas pipeline construction engineering project, there are no examples of applications related methods, therefore, after the application of CCPM to other project schedule management has the great significance and reference value.
