Low carbon economy has become the primary goal of the current development of all countries, the problem of environmental pollution caused by a gradual depletion of energy and primary energy has attracted national attention. Solar energy for its clean unlimited resources, for people of all ages. However, how to use the solar maximum is not to be ignored.In this paper, the history and development status of solar power is introduced firstly, the work principle of photovoltaic cells was studied, and its mathematical model is established, the working characteristics of photovoltaic cells by theory analysis and simulation research. The maximum power tracking algorithm simulation, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods, using perturbation method as the maximum power point tracking algorithm in this paper. Selects the BUCK circuit as the output of photovoltaic cells conversion circuit, and the simulation model is established in the environment of Matlab/SIMULINK, the maximum power point tracking algorithm is verified by simulation. Design of the photovoltaic maximum power tracking system, to the hill climbing method as the control algorithm, using the single chip microcomputer as control core, and the design of the PC monitoring software based on virtual instrument technology. Finally the system was verified by the experiment, the experimental results show that the correctness of the system design.
