In recent years, with the constant pursuit of high quality life, exhibition building as an important carrier of cultural communication and art form to improve the quality of the popular has also been an unprecedented development. Nowadays in the small exhibition building in the development scale surge presented in front of the architect, has been a creation of space instead of just a combination of education as main function and culture itself. Small exhibition building emphasize the characteristic of “special”,“mass”and “profound”, as a supplement for the large-scale exhibitions which always embody complex and diverse social functions,Nowadays, the dispersed and independent exhibitions will not only separate the urban land, but also lead to produce many useless remaining spaces. This paper attempts to apply the "parasitic model" to the small-scale exhibition building,and um up adaptive design method. It also elaborates how to adapt to the change of the modern city, and to ensure the better operation and development of the modern city. in the context of urban renewalAt present, there is a big gap between the domestic research and the foreign countries On the one hand, it comes from the existing national conditions and the popularity of Art. On the other hand, the development of small-scale exhibition building is ignored for people’s lives. The research of this paper is based on the phenomenon, from theory to practice, and then again in practice. Through the domestic and foreign outstanding case analysis, combined with the realization of the domestic, the article classifies and summarizes the principles that should be followed in the use of parasitic modes, to summarize the relationship between parasitic architecture and host architecture or environment, design method of small exhibition buildings with vertical and horizontal parasitic modes.
