I-shaped members with corrugated webs are composed of corrugated webs and flat flange webs welded by high frequency welding. As the webs are corrugated, the corrugated web members have higher out-of-plane bending stiffness and load-carrying efficiency than the traditional flat web members, thus the webs of corrugated web members can be higher and thinner. I-shaped members with corrugated webs are applied more and more widely because of its efficient performance. It has high economic benefits if I-shaped members with corrugated webs are used as crane beams. As the crane beam is subjected to dynamic load,it has severe fatigue issues. I-shaped members with corrugated webs has bigger out-plane stiffness compared with steel beams with flat webs,so it need no stiffener to avoid residual stress which improve the fatigue strength. Now the study of beams with corrugated webs whose bending resistance, shear and local bearing capacity is very much many at home and abroad. But it has little study on the overall stability analysis of steel crane beam with corrugated webs under compound bending and torsion. Steel crane beam is under compound bending and torsion when it has no brake structure. However,it just widen the compression flange to withstand the moment by horizontal braking force in actual engineering design and ignore the effect of torsion. Therefore,it is necessary to study the global stability of the steel crane beam with corrugated webs under compound bending and torsion. In this paper, the stress model of steel crane beam with corrugated webs under compound bending and torsion is simplified, and then determine the worst-case position of the crane beam and the internal force calculation. The calculation method of the critical load of the steel crane beam with corrugated webs is derived according to the theoretical formula. Then the influence factors of the overall stability of the crane beam with the span of 6m~9m are studied through the finite element software ABAQUS,andthe calculation results are compared with the theoretical formula. It studies the effects of torsion, span of crane beams, width of compression flange, thickness of web and amplitude of wave on the overall stability of steel crane beams with corrugated webs under compound bending and torsion. This provides the theoretical basis of I-shaped members with corrugated webs used for crane beams.
