Expressway greening is an important part of expressway engineering, but there are no other references of design standard for the greening design of expressway, and it cannot copy the greening design standard of the other industries easily, because the greening design of expressway has its own characteristics. Expressway landscape is an arduous work, and there still exist a large gap when comparing with the international level, which need continue to improve various concrete links. The requirements of landscape for expressway greening is higher and higher, but the expressway landscape planting reengineering theory and technology are still immature, and the system research of expressway landscaping work is imperative, which will provide important guidance and standard role for the future work of expressway greening design.The study will start from the analysis of current situation of expressway greening and summarize the experience of success or failure in the expressway greening work comprehensively, on this basis, the first screen suitable landscape assessment quantitative indicators and the evaluation method for Shanxi Province, and determine the plant disposition patterns and greening mode; Based on the comprehensive analysis and research of greening design and maintenance of expressway, it concluded the expressway landscape planting related standard, and make the expressway landscaping work has evidence based, which to guide the expressway landscaping work more standardization, make the highway develop towards safety, convenient, comfortable, beautiful, and personalized, and adapt to the demand of the development of transportation system and the social and economic.
