Along with the rapid development of intermittent renewable energy,the traditional system of hydropower plant automation gradually exposed some defects such as information sharing is difficulty, the degree of integration is low, technical standard has large differences, intelligent decision ability is low. It is difficult to play a strong supporting role in the power generation sector.Based on the analysis of the current operation situation of hydropower plant automation system and analysis deficiencies, proposed the use of advanced computer, automatic control and information communication technology referring to the research achievements have been made in the smart grid research, through the integration of all kinds of arrangement of hydropower plant production data, from the aspects of hardware and software integration design of foundation platform, finished integrated design in the hardware and software platform, standard communication bus based hydropower, hydropower CIM model, established an integrated management and control system. Main contents and results are as follows:1) The background and status. According to the current actual situation of hydropower plant, analysed the main existing problems of various professional automation system, expounded the feasibility and necessity of the construction of integrated management and control system.2) Proposed hydropower CIM model standard --standard of factory production equipment operation and resource specification based on the IEC61850 standard, IEC 61970 standard,and the concept of hydropower and standard communication bus. Construct a new hydropower plant management and control integration structure of distributed system, and realize the integration of hydropower plant automation and information system. Realizated the integration of management and control mode.3) Analysed the typical engineering application, proved the system benefits on the production of various types of information collection, measurement, control, protection, measurement, detection, innovative and practical engineering system.
