In northeast China rural zones, the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is in the range of 30℃ and 40℃ in a cold period of December to January. Large amounts of fuel is consumed to keep the indoor temperature.The research results show that the heating by Chinese kangs is suitable for rural northern heating areas. The vast northeast rural areas have been follow this habit for a long time. It’s difficult to adapt to urban heating mode. There are many problems in traditional Chinese kangs such as low thermal efficiency, uneven surface temperature and poor air quality. It need to design by a more scientific and theoretical basis.In this paper, aiming at the existing problems of traditional Chinese kangs, the elevated energy-saving kang is proposed. The barrier plate of elevated energy-saving Chinese kang is cancelled, chamber of a stove or a furnace is separated. and said anything when he found said anything when he found at the top of the water jacket and indoor Tunuanqi arch form circulating water system of radiator is composed by a arch water jacket, which absorbs the flue gas waste heat. The original red brick wall is replaced by cooling steel plates, and the oxygen to the straw burning is sufficiently provided by the draft tube which connected to the outside. It can make indoor air pressure stable and burning sufficient.In order to verify the superiority of energy-saving kang heating system, the thermal performance of an energy-saving hanging kang in a farm house of Jilin province is tested.The test results show that with the average energy consumption, the daily heating capacity raised 18.8 k Wh compared to common elevated kangs. Energy-saving hanging kangs’ surface temperature is more uniform, and the efficiency increased by 6.06% than normal hanging kang heating system. Indoor temperature of rural house in cold region, has obvious improvement. Indoor CO、CO2 concentration has been reduced within the standard, the indoor environment was improved obviously.As a result of the limitation of field test conditions, it is difficult to measure the flue gas flow inside heat transfer conditions. In order to make up for the inadequacy of the test, the model for the energy-saving hanging kang is calculated. The temperature field, velocity field and the related the thermal performance parameters are detailed studied under different boundary conditions by Fluent. The existing energy-saving kang is also optimized. The results show that adding speed of fuel, flue gas inlet velocity and the thickness of heat storage layer can produce effects on the thermal performance of elevated energy-saving Chinese kang. Adding fuel slowly can make kang surface temperature more uniform.With flue gas inlet velocity increasing, the exhaust heat loss is increased, but fuel combustion heat loss is reduced. The energy efficiency can achieve to the highest with reasonable flue gas inlet velocity. The reasonable thickness of heat storage layer can also control the average surface temperature, surface temperature uniformity in a reasonable range. Compared with energy-saving Chinese kang before optimization, the superiority and accuracy of the scheme design, operation is verified. In this paper, the energy-saving hanging kang is suitable for all kinds of rural residential construction. Theory basis is provided for Chinses elevated kangs’ designing and working.
