Many major projects are based on the mass concrete foundation slab along with mass concrete being used more and more widely. A large number of heat released by hydration in the early age will cause the self generated temperature stress being very large. The large self generated temperature stress is the main factor for the mass concrete cracking without other loads. Therefore, we pay more and more attention on the temperature field and temperature stress of mass concrete.We usually use 3 methods to construct mass concrete, such as primary pouring, stratified palcement and sequence construction. The study of mass concrete foundation slab is mostly focused on just 1 method, because of the lack of contrastive study, many projects select method only by their experience.A typical large area mass concrete engineering is chosen in this paper. Using ANSYS thermal module to simulate the process of construction respectively by primary pouring, stratified palcement and sequence construction. To contrast the calculated temperature data, this paper use temperature stress as a standard. Combined with the requirements of relative specifications, this paper contrast the temperature stress of this mass concrete project with different construction method. Then, combined with this project, this paper also contrast the temperature data that constructed by sequence construction with different size for further study.Through contrasting the temperature stress of this project, this paper analyse the effect on controlling cracks of mass concrete when constructed by these 3 methods. The results will provide reference for the construction of other mass concrete projects. the study of this paper proves that using sequence construction method to construct this large size mass concrete, the cracking of mass concrete is controlled more effectively. Through the further study of sequence construction, the smaller size will reduce the temperature stress and the cracks of mass con crete. The results of this paper have certain reference value for other mass concrete projects.
