With the rapid development of our economy and the continuous improvement of people’s living standard, the social demand for all kinds of energy is more and more big,the hydropower as a clean green energy, its development and utilization of the proportion of increase year by year. The reasonable exploitation of vast untapped hydropower resources, to alleviate the increasingly tense energy problems and promote economic development has a huge role. At present our country has built 13 large hydropower bases,rolling was carried out on the water resources development and utilization, form a good situation of multiple joint operation of cascade hydropower station. In addition, the implementation of the reform of electricity market and time-of-use electricity price(tou price), make the rule of optimal operation of cascade hydropower stations and the optimization goal are profound changes have taken place, the traditional power maximization as the optimization goal of the scheduling model is no longer suitable for the development requirements of the new form. Therefore, to carry out short-term optimal operation of cascade hydropower stations for the electric power market has very important theory value and practical significance.This paper fully considering the influence of the cascade hydropower stations in electricity market to optimize scheduling, on the basis of previous research results, further discusses the tou price theory, the cascade hydropower stations based on tou price short-term generation benefit maximization model and solving. To further illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of the model, this paper also set up a unified price comparison group to show that. Thesis research results are as follows:First, this paper analyzes the profile of water resources and hydropower development present situation, combining with the dynamic cascade hydropower stations at home and abroad, this paper expounds the scheduling model of cascade hydropower station based on tou price meaning.Second, this paper summarizes some of the basic theory of power market, discusses the necessity of cascade hydropower stations in electricity market, and starting from the process of electric power reform, considering the actual economic situation, put forward reasonable tou price time division basis and method for determining the peak pinggu electricity prices.Third, this paper discusses the feasibility of short-term optimal operation of cascade hydropower station and the meaning of scheduling, illuminates the cascade hydropowerstations in electricity market environment facing the problem, the commonly used at home and abroad and the rule of optimization analysis, to the optimization of power generation benefit maximization criterion is put forward. On this basis, the cascade hydropower stations based on tou price short-term generation benefit maximization model, based on the reasonable distribution of peak, flat and valley period of efforts to achieve optimal operation of cascade hydropower stations.Fourth, the solving method for optimization of genetic algorithm and pattern search algorithm was briefly introduced, the characteristics of the two algorithms are analyzed and the operation process, considering the characteristics of pattern search algorithm, and the importance of selecting initial, the global search ability of genetic algorithm and pattern search algorithm of combining the local search ability, provides the solving short-term optimal operation problem for cascade hydropower stations under the market environment of new ideas.Fifth, in the upper reaches of the Yellow River in Gansu Province Liujiaxia,Yanguoxia, Bapanxia, a small gorge four cascade hydropower stationsas an example,analysis and summarization of the station and the basic situation of the known data, the tou price for cascade hydropower short-term optimal operation model is applied to Liujiaxia to small Gorge Hydropower station, respectively to solve the model by using genetic algorithm, pattern search method based on and on peak Pinggu output ratio were optimized for maximum power generation benefit of optimal peak Pinggu output ratio. Finally, the Liujiaxia to small Gorge Hydropower Station of the optimization compared with general optimization analysis, the model illustrates the superiority.
