In recent years, with China’s accession to the world trade organization, China’smarket economy develops; the rapid economic development drives the sustained highgrowth of many domestic industries, especially China’s air transportation industry.After2005China has become the world’s second largest air transportation systemaccording to the ICAO statistics. China’s civil aviation industry develops twice asrapidly as the speed of the national economy. In this kind of high growth industrybackground, our pilot training market is still in the initial stage of development,lagging behind the development of the air transportation industry.With the expansion of the fleet scale in China’s airlines, the shortage of pilotshas become the focus of the civil aviation industry’s attention. It is also the bottleneckof the development of China’s civil aviation transportation. Comparing with thesignificant increase of the demand for pilots, the ability to supply adequate qualifiedpilots by China’s training market needs to be strengthened.With the influence of the sustained and rapid growth of China’s nationaleconomy, the deep development of the world economy’s globalization, the hugepattern and the tendency of low cost of the world aviation transportation, also thecontinuing released flight policies and the low altitude airspace gradually opened up,the pilot training market will usher in developing opportunities and great challengeshitherto unknown. This paper studied the situation of pilot training market in bothnative and foreign countries, analyzed the related industrial business model and theprimary reasons which restricted the development of China’s pilot training market. Itmade full use of the SWOT analysis method, to analyze the internal factors ofstrengths, weaknesses, the external factors of opportunities, threats of our pilottraining market, tried to find out strategies to solve the problem of pilot trainingmarket development. This study has reference significance for us to grasp themarketing opportunities and to develop training business, which helps to obtain thelong-term development for airlines and China’s civil aviation industry.
