Shandong is well-developed Province and consumes large sum of energy. As to maintain rapid economic growth, there is a significant increase in demand for energy with the development of high-energy industries and unstopped urbanization process. So now it is the time to re-recognize the relation between economic growth, energy consumption and carbon emissions for better use of resources and environmental protection.Firstly, we summarize research advances in relation of economic growth, energy consumption and carbon emission at home and abroad; Then we use the statistical data over years to analyze economic growth, energy consumption and carbon emission in Shandong Province, then we find energy consumption and industry have irrational structure, and energy conservation with emission reduction faces much pressure; Next we use cointegration method to inspect the relation between energy consumption and economic growth, and there is a one-way Granger causality between them. To research the relation between carbon emissions and economic growth, we use decoupling method and find they have no strong decoupling status. At last we predict energy consumption and carbon emissions trends by Kuznets theory, and conclude that they have a turning point in future.Using those conclusions, the relevant departments can have a more accurate grasp of relationship between energy consumption, carbon emission and economic growth. And help government to develop more rational energy and industry policy. Through changing the structure of energy consumption industry, and developing new energy sources, Shandong Province can achieve its objectives and provide theoretical and practical support for other province’s macro economy operation.
