| The airport economy is a new economic form with the character of the new economic era of high-tech. It has become the Highlands leading the economic development of the current and the future. With the acceleration of the process of economic globalization and regional economic integration, the competition mode of economic buildup based on the modernized international airport hub will replace the traditional mode based on the road and the railways. Nowadays, many countries and regions of the world are focusing on the development of the airport economy. In August2004, one of China’s three major hub airports, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was officially opened, which brings the airport economy into shape and boosts up the economic development of the airport surrounding areas. The airport economy gradually becomes an important part of the Guangdong Province’s and as well as the Guangzhou’s economy.With the research style of countermeasures, this thesis researches on the role of the Customs in the construction of the Guangzhou airport economy. This thesis described in detail the status quo of the construction of the Guangzhou airport economy, the problems, the opportunities and the challenges too. It discusses the orientation and the function of the Customs in the airport economy construction, drawing on international experience and related academic research on airport economy and the main measures to promote the development of regional airport economy taken by the Customs of the other regions of China. It also brings out the countermeasures and suggestions for the Customs to promote the Guangzhou airport economy by innovating the supervising mode, means and methods. |
