Labor-intensive industry is an important sector which has played a pivotal role inthe national economy. It is charged with promoting the transfer of surplus labor、exports、urbanization、 increasing farmers’ income and other burdens, to developlabor-intensive industries is our insurmountable stage. Although in recent years,Jiangsu labor-intensive industries affected by multiple factors of the development of ahit, on the whole because it is irreplaceable and stagy features make this industry stilloccupy an important position in Jiangsu economy. Based on this condition,evaluatingand making relevant suggestions of the industrial development,which it is verynecessary for the construction of the problems.First, this paper the concept of labor-intensive industries were defined on thebasis of learning-related research,selecting three indicators of capita fixed assets atcost、comparative labor productivity、per capita wages,the use of cluster analysis oflabor-intensive industries in Jiangsu Province were divided. The results show thatthere are16industries are labor-intensive industries,accounting for more than half ofthe total manufacturing industry contained in Jiangsu manufacturing.Second,combing the status of the development of labor-intensive industries inJiangsu,their status and the development of existing problems. The results show thatlabor-intensive industries in Jiangsu occupies an important position in themanufacturing sector,its share of total manufacturing output value of more than50%.Meanwhile, the industry also has extensive mode of development、 financingdifficulties、labor supply imbalance and other issues.Third, based on the diamond model,to extract the influence of labor-intensiveindustries competitive six factors in Jiangsu: factors of production、the demandconditions、 related or supporting industries、 corporate strategy、 structure andcompetition、the role of government and opportunities,following On the basis ofdetailed analysis of these factors on its quantitative characterization. Using AHP onthe annual labor-intensive industries in Jiangsu and dynamic competitiveness of theindustry were evaluated. Through comparative analysis of the competitiveness of theannual results showed that the competitiveness of labor-intensive industries in Jiangsuhas been showing steady growth trend,which in2012grew faster than the other years.Affecting the competitiveness of labor-intensive industries in Jiangsu six factors,thegreatest contribution is the factors of production and demand conditions,competitive in five years,nearly one percentage point increase in the growth rate is faster than theother four elements;through comparative analysis of the competitiveness of theindustry results indicate that16industries develop labor-intensive industries are notconsistent competitiveness gap is more obvious,the lowest industry competitivenessin labor-intensive industries in the proportion of4.08%,the highest proportion of10.67%,a difference6.59percentage points. Where textiles and electrical machineryand equipment manufacturing industry in the16most competitive, more than10%,the lowest level of competitiveness is the furniture manufacturing industry,accounting for only4.08%.Finally, to improve the competitiveness of labor-intensive industriescountermeasures in Jiangsu Province. Include four aspects. First,the role of thegovernment functions to promote the development of labor-intensive industries;thesecond is to increase the development of competitive industries,optimizing theinternal structure of the industry;Third,expand financing channels,strengthencooperation between banks; Fourth, expand exports, and create a favorableinternational competition.
