A Study On The Economic Development Model Of The National Poverty - Stricken Counties In The Border Area Of ​​West

With the development of society and the deepening of reform and opening uppolicy, people’s living standard has improved significantly. Quite a number ofareas in China has reached a well-off standard, while a certain percentage ofregions have bad level of economic development. In order to narrow the wideningtrend of regional development gaps, and to keep geopolitical security in ethnicminority areas, permitted by the leading group for poverty alleviation anddevelopment office of the state council,331,592and592counties were approvedand defined as national-level poverty-stricken counties respectively in1986,1994and2006. As of2012March, some adjustments were made to the list ofstate-level poverty-stricken counties, which were that38counties were removedand some more counties instead of them with a total number unchanged.This paper selects state-level poverty-stricken counties in the Yunnanwestern border as study subjects. From the point of space-time concept ingeography, on the basis of analysis of the space-time characteristics of state-levelpoverty-stricken counties in the Yunnan western border,this paper selects and setsup evaluation index system and method of state-level poverty-stricken counties.Meanwhile, this paper divides state-level poverty-stricken counties in the Yunnanwestern border into four types. Concerning their developing characteristics andmain influece factors, this paper chooses six developing models withcorresponding ideas and solutions, which are intensive management of agriculture,special economical crops, large engineering company work,development oftourism resources,border trade foregin earings, and labor export income. It aims toprovide a regional theory method and practice basis for the economicdevelopment of state-level poverty-stricken counties.There are six chapters in this paper, which are:Chapter one is introduction, which mainly introduces the researchbackground, purpose of research, significance of research, research scope,research methods and technology roadmap. Chapter two: literature review. Starting from the basic concepts of povertyand county economy, definition of county economy characteristics aredemonstrated and the relevant theorical literature review both abroad and at homeare summarized in this chapter.Chapter three: the overall space-time characteristics of state-levelpoverty-stricken counties in the Yunnan western border. At first, an introductionabout the north part of Yunnan western border is made. On this basis, this papermainly studies the overall characteristics of economic development of state-levelpoverty-stricken counties in the Yunnan western border in spacial differences,temporal variation and development.Chaoter four: analysis of the degrees and types of state-level poverty-strickencounties in the Yunnan western border. This paper mainly defines the developmentindex and sets up evaluation method, and then gets the final results.Chapter five: the developing models of state-level poverty-stricken countiesin the Yunnan western border. Six models are presented in this chapter accordingto the natural and social-economic factors of state-level poverty-stricken countiesin the Yunnan western border.Chapter six: developing ideas and solutions of state-level poverty-strickencounties in the Yunnan western border. According to the developing models inchapter five, corresponding detailed ideas and suggestions are proposed in thischapter.
