Along with the economy development, the scale of express delivery industry is expanded rapidly and also permeated into areas of social, economic and life, which has become a new economic growing point in China[1]. Now, the express industry of Shanghai is the highest level of China due to its huge consumption group. However, complaints about express delivery, such as delay and error of address, also grow exponentially. The main parts of express delivery include sorting, storage and transport. Spatial layout of express delivery is critical to the timeliness of entire logistics network, analysising which will make great sense to enhance the efficiency of the logistics network. Therefore, exploring the spatial pattern and causes of Shanghai logistics nodes cannot only enrich the theoretical connotation of economic geography, but also provide theoretical reference for the development of express industry and city planning. This article studies the spatial pattern of express logistics node at the perspective of geography, which includes three aspects: the basic theory of space organization, the space layout of express logistics node and organizational structure. First, from the location theory, central place theory, urban land rent theory and agglomeration theory summed up the spatial pattern of urban express logistics node basic theory mainly include spatial structure theory, spatial organization and spatial aggregation theory. The organization of express logistics follows the rule of "anti-urban rent theory", the basic organization types of which are "peer-to-peer", "axial to radial" and combination of both; Secondly, taken five typical express enterprises in Shanghai as study cases showing that their logistics node diminishing from the city center to outlying regions, formed the space layout that with Jing’an as "inner circle", with Huangpu, Hongkou, etc as "middle circle", with Yangpu, Minhang, etc as "outer circle". The organization structure of express logistics belong to the type of "axial to radial", in which the regional headquarter delivered directly with each branch; Finally, using the kernel density analysis of Arc GIS to analyze those enterprises’ express logistics nodes found that it presente a "multi-core" features of space agglomeration in Shanghai; By utilizing the method of grey correlation to found the factors of affecting the development of express delivery industry, and then connecting with the Shanghai express delivery business concluded that the major factors of agglomeration include: people oriented, economic development, urban planning, guidance, and location.
