A Study On The Employment Problem Of The New Generation Migrant Workers In The Context Of New Urbanization

The population flow policy barriers was gradually cleared and the household contract responsibility system was set up with reform and opening up. As a result, a large number of rural surplus labor came to city and formed unique migrant workers of China. Due to China’s specific institutional arrangements and the historical background, the rapid shift of rural labor force to non-agricultural activities wasn`t in accordance with urbanization. 269 million migrant workers became “amphibian population”,which causing many problems. Growing up under the new social conditions, the new-generation migrant workers have become the main part of migrant workers and brought about new employment problems. In order to fundamentally solve these problems, we must realize the citizenization of migrant workers which is also the requirement and inevitable choice of the new urbanization path.Based on the background of new urbanization, the employment problem of new-generation migrant workers is analyzed from macro and micro perspective in this paper. It is mainly divided into seven parts. The introduction part puts forward the research background and significance, and then defines the main concepts of this paper. The second part mainly reviews the related theory and the research status quo, laying the foundation for further analysis. The third part chooses three angles to discuss the necessity and urgency of solving employment problem, which are labor supply of new-generation migrant workers, labor rights and interests of new-generation migrant workers and requirement of new urbanization path. Under the background of new urbanization, the fourth part discusses employment situation of new-generation migrant workers. It contains two aspects: their new features and employment plights. On the basis of further study of status quo, the fifth section tries to find out the employment influence factors of the new-generation migrant workers. Analysis from the angle of macro, meso and micro finds that the factors not only relate to historical reasons, but also have a close connection to the development stage. Following the above analysis, the sixth part puts forwards the corresponding countermeasures to solve new-generation migrant worker s’ employment problem. The complexity of new-generation migrant workers’ employment problem requires the collective efforts of government, enterprises, society and individuals. The transformation of the dual system and construction of employment promotion channels must be taken into account at the same time. Finally, the conclusion carries on simple generalization and summary about the full text, and raises the new rural construction as a supplement to solve new-generation migrant workers’ employment problem.
