Study On The Measurement And Spatial - Temporal Characteristics Of The New Urbanization Development In The Urban Agglomeration Of The Middle Yangtze River

As the greatest potential to expand the domestic demand in our country, new urbanization will become a powerful engine of economic growth in the future, it’s the only way to achieve comprehensive coordinated and sustainable development among the society economy and environment, balanced regional development, urban and rural development. As the advanced form of urban development and important carriers of new urbanization, urban agglomerations will lead the development of new urbanization in our country. The Yangtze river middle reaches urban agglomeration is across Hubei, Hunan, Anhui and Jiangxi these four provinces, the rapid and healthy development of its new urbanization will drive the rapid rise of central region in our country. Therefore, an objective evaluation of its new urbanization development level and strategies of developing its new urbanization, will play important roles in the development of urban agglomeration and the whole country.The current urbanization situation of the Yangtze river middle reaches urban agglomeration is analyzed and the problems it faces are pointed out in this paper, the evaluation system of new urbanization is built on the basis of the new urbanization’s connotation, and it’s composed of six subsystems:population, space, economy, society, resources and environment, urban-rural integration, the new urbanization development level of the Yangtze river middle reaches urban agglomeration is measured by the entropy method, and is analyzed from three dimensions:overall, city group and prefecture-level city; the temporal and spatial characteristics of both development level of overall and the six subsystems on new urbanization in the urban agglomeration is studied; and then the closely index factor with urban agglomeration new urbanization is analyzed based on gray relation analysis; lastly, new urbanization development strategies of urban agglomeration are proposed.Through the study on temporal and spatial characteristics of new urbanization development level in the Yangtze river middle reaches urban agglomeration, we can find the new urbanization development level of urban agglomeration continuously improved in the years of 2003-2012, the city group with the highest development level is Wuhan city circle, the city group with the lowest development level is the ring of Poyang Lake economic circle, there exists an unbalanced development situation among the six subsystems, the previous developing emphases are focused on space and social development, but now more emphasis is focused on economic development, new urbanization development of the urban agglomeration shows an uneven space state, capital cities and riverside cities have high value in development, provincial border cities have low value in development; the development level of the six subsystems have the different space uneven degree in the same year, the development level of the same subsystem has the different space uneven degree in different years; in the developing process of new urbanization, protection of the resources and environment is small, and the degree of urban-rural integration is low, the new urbanization development of the urban agglomeration is influenced deeply by the traditional urbanization; to promote healthy and sustainable development of urban agglomeration new urbanization, development strategies of urban agglomeration are proposed from six aspects and four types.
