China is in a dominant position in China-Japan-South Korea agricultural trade, while Japan and South Korea are typical agricultural disadvantaged nations, there are serious barriers to protect domestic agriculture, the two countries take a negative attitude to open their agricultural markets; while China hopes to take advantage of its agricultural product, and better promote its agricultural exports. Therefore, the study of China-Japan-South Korea international competitiveness in agricultural products is of great significance.This paper first reviews the concept of competitiveness on the academic development process at home and abroad of theories about the international competitiveness of products, analysis methods scholars adopted in the international competitiveness of agricultural products. In the first part this paper sums up the shortcomings of previous studies. Then a set of index system on the international competitiveness of agricultural products is proposed to evaluate the comparative competitiveness of agricultural products of the three countries.After that this paper introduces the basic situations of agriculture in China/Japan and South Korea and the international trade of agricultural products of the three countries, and then calculates the agricultural trade between the three countries.Then the RCA, CA, NER, EMS and RRCA for China Japan and South Korea, competitiveness of agricultural products is calculated, and seven categories of agricultural products were analyzed on the three countries. China’s overall trade of agricultural indicators is better than Japan and Korea, in the seven categories of agricultural products in the three countries have their own advantages products and weaknesses products.Finally, this paper makes some suggestions to improve the competitiveness of China’s agricultural products, especially in East Asia, and to promote regional agricultural trade development.
