Industrial Agglomeration Of Manufacturing Industry In Yunnan Province And Its Impact On Regional Economic Growth

Nowadays, industrial agglomeration not only has become one of the effective ways to promote the competitiveness of the industry, but also plays a very important role in the development of regional economy. Industrial agglomeration has obvious advantages in such aspects as cost saving, technology spillover. Industrial agglomeration as the important problem of the regional economic development becomes the focus of academic research.Yunnan province has become the important gateway to Southeast Asian. It is a very important province in western China. It connects Southeast Asia and South Asia, and China’s southwest and central regions. Yunnan province is in the stage of industrialization and urbanization accelerated development. The regional economic growth problem is one of the urgent problems need to be solved. Manufacturing industry as a mainstay of the economy in Yunnan province has obvious contribution for economic growth in Yunnan province. Thus, strengthening the manufacturing industry agglomeration in Yunnan province becomes an important means to boost the growth of regional economy in Yunnan province.Research scope of this paper is the Yunnan province. Through the analysis of the manufacturing industry agglomeration status of Yunnan province, and using location quotient of calculation index to measure industrial concentration of manufacturing industries in Yunnan province, it is concluded that five industries have manufacturing agglomeration effect, which is more noticeable in Yunnan province. Then use the econometric analysis method to analysis the relationship between the degree of agglomeration in five industries and the industrial agglomeration of Yunnan, province. Research results showed that most of the manufacturing industry of Yunnan province not formed industrial concentration. Industrial agglomeration is mainly concentrated in the resources dependent industry. Industrial agglomeration of manufacturing promoted the regional economic growth in different extent. According to the problems existing in the manufacturing industry agglomeration in Yunnan province, this paper put forward a series of policy suggestions to promote the industrial agglomeration.
