| Research on economic development is always an important issue for various countries scholars. Study on economic development not only includes research on ‘quantity’, but also on ‘quality’. The core factor of promoting the quality of economic growth is technical efficiency. There are many factors that affect the technical efficiency. In economy globalization times, the level of opening-up and the development of international trade in China are continuously enhanced, therefore, this paper will focuses on studying the impact of foreign trade on technical efficiency among numerous factors.Based on summarizing the domestic and foreign research achievements and correlation theories, the paper analysis comparative of the effect of the international trade development on technical efficiency in various regions of China, so the paper research the measure of improving technical efficiency and promote Chinese economy development from the perspective of foreign trade dependence. Around this theme, this paper is divided into six parts. The first part is the introduction. This section mainly introduces the research background and significance of this study, reviews the relevant research results in domestic and foreign, and put forward research ideas and research methods. The second part is the summary of the theory. In this section, the concept of foreign trade dependence and technical efficiency will be defined. In addition, the four methods of technical efficiency evaluation will be analyzed, by comparing these methods; we select the stochastic frontier analysis and will introduce it in detail to lay the theoretical foundation for the following research. The third section analysis the impact mechanism of foreign trade dependence on the technical efficiency. This part research the mechanism from four aspects of productivity, resource allocation, industry structure and technological innovation through the relevant principles of economics. The next part will do comparatively analysis foreign trade dependence in China and its provinces. Research the current situation of foreign trade dependence in China through the detailed data in recent years. The fifth part is the empirical part of this paper. In order to make the results more accurate, the paper choose 31 Chinese provinces from 2009 to 2013 as the research sample of empirical analysis, using stochastic frontier analysis method to calculate technical efficiency according to sample data and analyze it, and study the effect of the international trade development on technical efficiency of China various regions. The last past put forward policy suggestions of promoting China level of foreign trade, reduce region difference, promoting China technical efficiency from four aspects of strategic perspective, resource allocation, industrial layout and technical innovation.This paper explores how the foreign trade dependence promotes Chinese technical efficiency from both theoretical aspect and empirical aspect. Importantly, it includes two innovative research results. Firstly, based on the provincial data in China, this research uses the stochastic frontier analysis model to investigate Chinese technical efficiency in different provinces. It finds that the imbalance of technical efficiency levels in China is pretty serious. The technical efficiency level of the eastern region is 20% higher than that of the western region. Secondly, the paper analyzes the effects of the foreign trade dependence on technical efficiency in Chinese different provinces. The empirical results show that the foreign trade dependence has a significant influence on technical efficiency. |
