Empirical Analysis On The Income Gap Between Urban And Rural Areas In Hubei Province

With the consistent development of social reform and socialism,China’ economy has lea ped remarkably,while the income gap widens day by day. Hubei province,a crucial city in the cental part of China,it has witnessed great economic boom in recent years.buoyed by government.However affected by such factors as geographical location and natural e nviroment, its economic development is noticebally marked by imbalance between urba n and rural areas as well as different regions,which demands feasible solution based on i n-depth research about income gap here.This thesis first puts the income gap of urban a nd rural dwellers from 1990 to 2014 into longitudinal comparision,showingthat the gap i s still widening yearly. Then it studys the income disparity between urban residents and rural dwellers of Hubei in terms of regions in 2014,which suggests the same case.Follo wing it, with reference to such reliable data as per capita disposable income of municip al and provincial residents of Hubei,per capita net income of rural households,urban pop ulation and rural population and by means of utilizing Theil index,the decomposition of Hubei Province income gap between urban income gap within and between urban and rural income gaps between urban and rural income gap is calculated, results show that, Hubei Province income gap in most of the reasons were derived from in the income gap between urban and rural areas. Then the Hubei Province was divided in two regions of Wuhan city circle and West Hubei eco cultural tourism circle, each region of income gap and regional income gap analysis, to calculate the Hubei Province regional and inter regional income gap between cities, to rural income gap between the region and the region were calculated. The results show that, in the Wuhan city circle of urban residents income gap is the main cause of Hubei Province urban residents income gap, West Hubei eco cultural tourism circle in rural residents’income gap is Hubei Province rural residents income gap is the main reason. Therefore, in order to reduce the gap between the income of residents in Hubei Province, first of all, we should take certain measures to narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents in Hubei Province and Wuhan city circle of the income gap between urban residents and West Hubei eco cultural tourism circle of income gap of rural residents. This paper has a certain guiding significance to narrow the income gap of residents in Hubei province.
