Research On The Influence Of International Construction Project Social Responsibility On Project Performance

The implementation of "Go Global" strategy and The Belt and Road Initiative makes more and more Chinese construction enterprises to assume some International construction projects. The image of International construction projects assumed by Chinese construction enterprises is not good, causing local people to make some blocking behavior to the project. Thereby it would affect the project performance. In order to improve the local image of project and the project performance, the project needs to fulfill their social responsibility in the local.Different with corporate fulfilling social responsibility, projects should take the project temporality into account when projects fulfill their social responsibility for the implementation of the project implementation strategy. This article explores what social responsibility has a positive impact on project performance and makes some suggestions for Chinese construction enterprises when they undertaking projects to fulfill social responsibility to make the project can not only establish a good image in the local, but also ensure the good project performance. The main contents include four parts:The first part is mainly to understand the research status of corporate social responsibility, project ability and project performance. Through analyzing the problems existed in current research, and the problems which should be paid attention in the fulfillment of social responsibility in project, this part clarifies the main problem of this paper.In the second part, project social responsibility is put forward through analyzing the problems of the project in fulfilling the social responsibility. Then this part analyzes the relationship and difference between the corporate social responsibility and social responsibility project. From the perspective of project stakeholders, this part explores the main content of the project social responsibility and the dimensions of social responsibility project by using the factor analysis.The third part mainly establishes the relationship model of project social responsibility and project performance. By analyzing the existing literature and the dimensions of project social responsibility, this paper finds that the fulfillment of project social responsibility may be associated with project performance. Besides that, through the literature review, project ability is considered as the mediator variable. Eventually according to the above analysis, conceptual model of this paper is established.The fourth part is questionnaire investigation and the verification of the model. This study selects the proper sample to make questionnaire investigation, and then do the validity and reliability test of the data. After that, the paper uses the SPSS for data processing. Finally, it discusses the results and put forward the defects of the study.The present study for improving project performance mainly from the perspective of cost management, quality management, risk management and other aspects, ignoring the influence of international projects fulfilling social responsibility on project performance. Through the research of the above four parts, this paper finds project social responsibility can be measured from 4 dimensions:project social responsibility for local labor, project social responsibility for local residents, project social responsibility for local environment, project social responsibility for public-spirited activities. At the same time, this paper finds project social responsibility for local labor, project social responsibility for local residents, and project social responsibility for local environment will have a positive impact on project performance. Based on the results, this paper makes some suggestions for Chinese construction enterprises undertaking international construction projects on how to fulfill the social responsibility, which can not only improve the image of the project but also can improve the project performance.
