Motivations, Obstacles And Policies Of The Participation To The East Asian Regional Economic Integration Of Taiwan

Since the 21 st century, under the wave of economic globalization and regional integration, East Asian regional economic cooperation has been developing rapidly, and presents a variety of regional economic integration mode. In the regional economic cooperation in East Asia, Taiwan as one of the major economies in East Asia, because of geopolitical relations, always maintain a very close economic and trade relations with East Asian countries. But with the advancement of East Asian regional economic development and institutional cooperation, along with Taiwan’s role and position changes, although Taiwan is also actively seek opportunities to participate in regional economic cooperation, but influenced by the orientation of the political sensitivity and political goals, has been unable to participate in the East Asian economic system of integration, and thus become more and more marginalized crisis, but also the resulting problems of cross-strait interaction in regional economic cooperation in East Asia and Taiwan’s participation in the East Asian regional economic cooperation issues appropriately. Therefore, by the cross-strait economic integration into the channels to the wave of regional integration in East Asia, is the best starting point to prevent the marginalization of Taiwan crisis in the context of regional integration in East Asia.The economic cooperation between Mainland and Taiwan encountered Some of the obstacles, the service trade agreement even caused a massive campaign against in Taiwan,the agreement was suspended at the same time,Taiwan also fall into dilemma.This paper firstly studies the current situation of Taiwan’s participation in the east Asian regional economic,analysis the reasons and obstacles of Taiwan’s participation in regional economic integration, then puts some methods for Taiwan’s regional economic cooperation.
